Spencer Kuehn, a student in the Mobile Apps/Game Design program at the Livonia Career Technical Center, won second place in the 2017 National Globey Game Design Competition in the Category of Best 3D Game.

The Globey's celebrate excellence in game design and coding process, and motivates students to dig deeper in their learning, while developing real-world Computer Science skills using industry-standard tools. Finalists and winners are selected by an expert panel of industry game designers, computer scientists and STEM innovators.

Spencer distinguished himself from a diverse pool of 274 regional finalists from across the country, representing states such as New York, Texas, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Utah, and California. Spencer’s game, entitled Constitutional Convention , was programmed using JavaScript and Unity, and was designed to teach players about the U.S. Constitution.

Spencer created the game as a part of his Mobile Apps/Game Design class at the Livonia Career Technical Center last school year. Spencer is currently a senior at Livonia Franklin High School.
